November 4th- another rainy day

This is a cuteness alert- our little friend Kayla on our pony, Buddy.  Buddy is currently residing in Rehoboth Mass, with two little girls and his own pasturemate.  Someday he will come back home to Hudson, but for now he is being properly ridden and spoiled by two little girls and a family who is able to give him the attention he deserves.  The horses we love come in all different shapes and sizes, and he is one of our favorites.  He was brought to our home as a companion, but we soon learned he LOVED children.  As a mother of teens, my big kids just didnt cut it for Buddy.

Though many little girls locally fell in love with him, sharing him at home took up my weekends and my own time to dote on my big horses.  Scribbles has never met Buddy.  Someday, I hope my younger sister Beth, and her family move back to NH- and Buddy will come home to be my niece, Brooke's pony.  But until then, many years from now, he is being loved and cared for as he should be by two very special little girls.

Scribbles is doing well today.  She and her pasturemates spent the day with rain sheets on and outside.  They were quite content!  I still fret about a tree falling on Scribbles, but hopefully this weekend will be nice and Phil can cut down the most scary trees.  After the accident, they all look scary to me- but Scribbles isnt phased at all!

She's lost some weight, I'm working on helping her to put it back on.  I think that her body is working hard to heal, so it's using lots of calories in that way.  I went down tonight to check on her, take off her wet blanket.  She was out of hay, so I gave her more hay, grain and hay stretcher-and carrots.  That horse can eat!!  I like my animals pleasantly round- and though she has a lean build, going into winter I'de like a little fat on those ribs.  Her progress astounds us- and I look forward to seeing her get stronger and stronger.

  1. We love reading about Scribble progress. And that little two-legged girl is beyond cute on that pony.

Hey. We want to alert you to something special that you may not know about. We've copied and pasted a long comment, with details. Bear with us, OK?

OK. We're gonna admit. Straightaway. No bones about it. We're taking the easy peasy way out. We want to get around to EVERYONE on our blog roll to remind you about the Second Annual Worldwide Moment coming up on Sunday 14 Nov 10. Were you there last year? Do you remember? Or are you new to it this year? Wondering what that Countdown Clock is on blogs that you visit? Whatever. We want you and everyone you know to have a chance to participate in the Silent Minute, the Candle Lighting and the Shout Out! Come visit. We've got a new banner for you, HTML for an (accurate, now that the word UNTIL is in red) Countdown Clock and a link to figure out what time 11:00 PM GMT is in your neck of the woods.

So. You're getting this 'cause we've been friends in the blogging world and we want you to know.

Please forgive the "stock" comment, but we told Moma we've never done this before and we'll not do it again (at least until next year.)

Know that we'll be thinking of Scribbles this year. We even extended the description to include horses and whinnies and neighs. Go see!

Loads of wirey love and lots of encouragment to join in (and to pass the word)
Jake and Fergi (and OurMoma and OurCollegeGirl)
