No news today- but I enjoyed a ride with friends

2010 Ride for the Cure, Susan G Komen-Becky & Splash
and Karen and Magic
Today, knowing there were no changes in Scribbles condition, and reassured by Kathryn at Myrhe that Scribbles would receive plenty of attention- I opted to go for a trail ride for the Pepperell 4-H trailblazers. Karen and I, Magic and Splash and two other friends I havent seen in years hit the trails in Brookline. There were many riders and horses, I would guess there were at least 90.  The picture is of Karen and I on our horses at the Ride for the Cure, in June 2010. Karen won the contest for the "pinkest rider".  I was very proud of her and Magic ;).  But that wasnt us today- we didnt wear a lot of pink, we wore our orange for hunting season.

Fall is my favorite time of year, and we had a blast trotting & cantering through the trails and enjoying a gorgeous day in New England.  We got lost- we always do.  We joked that we turned a 10 mile ride into a 10 plus ten mile ride.  Four hours later we returned with two happy, tired horses, groomed them, and put them in the trailer.  While they relaxed with their hay, Karen and I went to enjoy a delicious luncheon put on by the 4-H club.  It felt great to be out with one of my horses, to be with friends and help the 4-H group. Today we were thanked repeatedly for coming, served delicious home made food- it was just a wonderful day and one of our favorite rides- even if we did go in circles a bit.

Tomorrow, I look forward to going to work, and at some point speaking to Dr Myrhe about our next step with Scribbles.  Hoping her surgery can be done in the early part of the week- fingers crossed!
